    As a Perioperative Educational Program Coordinator, you will plan, implement, and evaluate departmental orientation and education activities for clinical and support caregivers.

    This position will be based at Hillcrest Hospital and travel to other locations to support the needs of the department, teams, and caregivers.

    Responsibilities:
    In conjunction with unit managers and education staff, plans and implements orientation for new hires.
    Assists education staff in assigning unit preceptors.

    May assist in interview process for new pletes probationary performance evaluations for new hires and participates in annual evaluations with unit Managers.

    Coordinates continuing education and training programs and staff development within the department.
    Assists Manager, Professional Development with coordination of programs with areas colleges and universities.

    Performs patient care up to 20% of work time in area of clinical expertise in order to demonstrate clinical competence and be able to teach others.

    Actively assists management team with ensuring staff compliance with regulatory requirements.

    This may include, but is not limited to, training and recertification for CPR, ACLS, annual education on fire safety, diversity, code management, HIPPAA and coordination of TB testing.

    Other duties as assigned.


    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required

    Master's Degree preferredCertifications:

    Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN).Certification in perioperative nursing such as Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), etc.


    plexity of Work:
    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Must be able to work in a stressful environment.


    Work Experience:
    Two years of perioperative experience required.
    Demonstrated expertise in clinical specialty; with current patient care competence.
    Knowledge of adult learning theory, motivational strategies, change theory, group process skills, leadership and teaching strategies.
    Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Demonstrated computer skills utilizing clinical systems (Epic/Optime) and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).


    Physical Requirements:
    Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
    Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours.
    Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

    Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
