    Description

    As a workflow dynamo, you manage the day-to-day operations of our philanthropy department with a passion for process management. Details thrill you, so the intricacies of gift reports, donor prospecting, and research spark profound joy.

    Essential Functions:

    • Generating accurate gift data and philanthropy records and reports.
    • Planning, scheduling, implementing, and following up on meetings, events, asks, updates, and reports.
    • Researching donor prospects and grant opportunities.
    • Leading preparation and submission of grants, reports, and donor packets.
    • Leading gift receipting and stewardship efforts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supporting the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan.
    • Supporting staff, Board members, and volunteers in carrying out donor stewardship and engagement activities
    • Leading data entry protocol for donations of all kinds.
    • Keeping accurate and up-to-date donor records.
    • Maintaining confidentiality and security of all donor information.
    • Leading the planning and execution of donor events, including stewardship and cultivation events.
    • Developing and maintaining constructive, professional, cooperative working relationships with employees, donors, volunteers, clients, community stakeholders.
    • Diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, embracing people with cultural, ethnic, and gender differences, individuals experiencing homelessness, and persons with visible and non-visible disabilities.
    • Taking on other duties as assigned.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Prior experience working in data management or development preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Commitment to the mission and values of Goodwill Northern Michigan.
    • Good judgment and ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Creative and strategic thinking with strong organizational, conceptual, and analytical skills.
    • Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to maintain up-to-date and accurate records in a sophisticated relational database.
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and multiple communications applications.
    • Ability to oversee multiple projects and follow up with precision.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Able to work in a well-lit office environment.
    • Routinely sitting, standing, walking throughout the workday.
    • Routinely bending, stooping, and stretching throughout the day.
    • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • This position may occasionally require routine local travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule including early morning, evening, and weekend hours.
