Position Summary: ConjuChem creates novel, next-generation medicines using unique, long-acting therapeutic peptides. Underlying all ConjuChem compounds are bioconjugation platforms called Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) and Preformed Conjugate-Drug Affinity Complex (PC-DAC). When applied to a given peptide, DAC and PC- DAC can create new drugs with similar therapeutic activities but with significantly longer durations of activity and improved safety profiles. The Director of Peptide Chemistry and Formulation will be responsible for leading new peptide drug development and new formulation for the peptide drugs Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for peptide synthesis, purification, lyophilization, conjugation.
    • Provide direction in therapeutic peptide drug development, target identification to candidate selection of peptide drugs, as well as contribute to research activities in support of CTA/IND submissions.
    • Provide direction and strategy in formulation development of current company on going anti diabetes and anticancer drugs.
    • Lead a team to develop a long-acting peptide drug.
    • Help to establish R&D scale and manufacturing scale in peptide drug development.
    • Closely interact with analytical department and non-clinical department to assist the drug characterization and MOA.
    • partnering with other preclinical functional groups, with program management, and other internal functions, as well as external collaborators and consultants, to achieve research milestones culminating in successful IND-filings.
    • Effective internal and external scientific communications (e.g. reports, regulatory documents, research publications).
    Requirements:
    • Ph.D. in Peptide chemistry and formulation, at least 10 years experience in peptide drug research.
    • With at least 10 years working experience in peptide research and drug formulation, and protein conjugation.
    • experience operating and maintaining peptide synthesizers.
    • experience with conjugation of therapeutic peptide with recombinant human albumin.
    • experience with purification of synthesis peptides, conjugation, and lyophilization.
    • experience supervising and directing a formulation team to develop a long-acting peptide drug and oral peptide drug.
    Salary: 150,000 to 175,000 annually This is the pay range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.
