- Respond to all incoming calls from patients, parents, physicians, dentists, pharmacies, social agencies, and schools. Issues are either resolved by a nurse with cardiologist consultation, if necessary, or sent to appropriate cardiology staff.
- Prepare routine written communication for cardiologists such as school care plans, cardiac clearance for medical procedures, Make a Wish, etc.
- Monitor and observe care of patients receiving Coumadin or Lovenox treatment including medication adjustments, patient teaching prior to discharge, and weekly to monthly follow-up on lab data.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Previous pediatric cardiology experience in an inpatient setting (primary children's CICU experience)

Job Summary
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for a part-time, experienced Advice Nurse.
It is incredibly important that they are able to interpret the request and critically think how to triage next steps on behalf of the patient and their families to provide the best care plan moving forward possible.

Required
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah.
Preferred
Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire.
