Job Summary:

The Sales Associate will assist customers with purchasing merchandise.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers.
• Understand customer needs and preferences.
• Explain and suggest suitable merchandise options.
• Emphasize product features and prices.
• Retrieve merchandise for customers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Resolve customer complaints.
• Operate cash register and process payments.
• Assist with stocking and restocking products.
• Perform other related duties.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Customer service skills.
• Verbal communication skills.
• Operate cash registers and other equipment.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of building products and local codes.
• Knowledgeable about company products and policies.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and working.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally 80 pounds.
• May require overtime and work on weekends.
• Able to perform repetitive movements.
