Position Overview: Burns & McDonnell is in search of a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our dynamic Transportation Practice based in Omaha, Nebraska, and Kansas City, Missouri. We are looking for an individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of excelling in both independent and team environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers in designing transportation projects and liaising with construction staff on design/build projects.
Lead tasks related to roadway design components such as alignments, typical sections, drainage analysis, erosion control plans, and project quantity estimations.
Ensure engineering plans' accuracy and design quality while managing budgets and schedules efficiently.
Make independent decisions to solve engineering issues and ensure project success.
Stay updated on industry trends through workshops, publications, and professional networking.
Provide guidance to junior staff on project technical aspects.
Engage in project meetings and presentations for key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, preferably civil, or with a focus on transportation engineering.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in diverse engineering projects.
Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Ability to lead and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Capable of handling pressure, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
Familiarity with transportation design standards and software like Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads.
