    **Description**

    **Duties:**

    Performs safety checks on vehicles before transporting residents. Documents checks. Reports any problems to the supervisor.

    Keeps vehicles clean inside and out.

    Provides scheduled transportation as identified on the activity calendar. At the end of each day, checks the following day sign ups and maps out a route that will allow all resident to reach and be picked up from destinations in a timely fashion.

    Assists riders on and off the vehicle and makes certain all riders are using restraint devices such as wheelchair restraints and seat belts.

    Manages walkers, wheelchairs, and packages for riders.

    Assures there is a working communication system available at all times while providing transportation.

    Drives vehicles carefully and responsibly at all times by obeying all rules of the road.

    Fills vehicles with gasoline.

    Assists activity department whenever transportation is not needed.

    Reports any observations concerning residents, families or visitors to supervisor.

    Maintains appropriate and professional communications with residents and families at all times.

    Attends and participates in committees, training programs and staff meetings.

    Performs other duties as assigned.
