Description

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Duties:

Duties will include clinical practice, and teaching Cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
Performs inpatient or outpatient cardiovascular consultation services.
As with all our cardiology providers, he or she will be expected to contribute as needed to the support of general cardiology service.
Perform standard diagnostic and cardiovascular procedures that may include, but not limited to percutaneous diagnostic right and left cardiac catheterization, radial and femoral access, coronary angioplasty and intervention,
IABP and Impella insertion, right heart oximetry, temporary pacing and permanent device implantation, direct current cardioversions, stress (chemical and exercise) echocardiography and interpretation,
Trans-esophageal echocardiogram performance and interpretation, trans-thoracic echocardiogram interpretation, tele-echocardiogram interpretation, electrocardiogram interpretation,
Holter monitor and ambulatory rhythm interpretation and exercise and chemical stress treadmill testing, with and without nuclear imaging. Experience in peripheral vascular intervention is preferred. Structural heart disease intervention and/or venous intervention training desirable.
