    DLZ is seeking a Safety Representative to join our team in Lansing or Detroit, Michigan. This individual contributor role reports to the corporate office in Columbus, OH.

    As a Safety Representative, you'll play a crucial role in implementing DLZ's corporate occupational safety program within our Michigan operations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES


    • Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and monitoring safety areas for DLZ site-specific clients, including basic training, personal protective equipment, and record keeping.
    • Act as a point of contact for safety matters with clients.
    • Stay informed about safety and environmental requirements, client needs, and best practices through training opportunities and conferences.
    • Support in managing inventory of personal protective equipment and safety supplies for the assigned region.
    • Aid project managers in basic safety equipment selection and evaluation for new projects.
    • Assist in conducting safety meetings and site-specific safety training sessions.
    • Help in tracking and maintaining basic health & safety statistics and records within the assigned region.
    • Support on-site inspections to assess compliance with safety procedures and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with senior team members to facilitate investigations of safety incidents and ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to promote the company's safety culture.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental/Engineering Sciences, or related field.
    • Basic understanding of safety principles and regulations; experience in safety, especially in construction, is desirable but not required.
    • Familiarity with MS Office suite; knowledge of safety software tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Must have a satisfactory driving record and be willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug test.
    • Capable of visiting construction sites and complying with safety codes and requirements.
    • Willingness to travel within the assigned region, with occasional irregular hours required.
