    The Manufacturing Scientist 1 - Microbiology is responsible for receiving and processing Pilot requests for panel pours to support multiple internal customers, creating fill specs and batch records to support those panel pours, manufacturing those panels according to the specifications, and coordinating delivery to the end customer. Additional responsibilities include supporting lab-based Operations and R&D teams when Piloting requirements are minimal.

    This position belongs to Microbiology Operating Company nested within Beckman Coulter and is located in West Sacramento. At Microbiology, our vision is to ensure that every patient has access to the right antibiotic at the right time as one of the leading ID/AST companies. You will be an integral part of the New Product Development Operations team.

    You will be a part of the Microbiology Operations and report to the Director of Reagent Manufacturing responsible for manufacturing and technical operations. If you thrive in a fast paced role and want to work to build a world-class manufacturing organization—read on.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Create batch records and fill specifications according to the requirements provided by internal customers
    • Create part numbers and complete change notices for Piloting document control
    • Support Pilot lab builds

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Engineering with 0+ years of experience
    • Experience with pipetting, pHing, and using a balance
    • Experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Computer proficiency, including Word and Excel
    • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    • Experience with Medical Devices and/or Microbiology preferred

    The hourly range $28.36-$36.05. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
