    Position: Senior Electrical Engineer

    The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role in leading the engineering integration and core engineering teams throughout the development process by defining system interactions and requirements. Responsibilities also include identifying system hardware and software components, evaluating inputs/outputs to ensure design performance aligns with product requirements. This role follows the NPI Process from concept to product launch, defining verification and validation test procedures. The projects supported fall under Generac's Consumer Power Business Unit, encompassing home standby generators, clean solutions, hybrid architectures, and power management solutions as per business priorities.

    Essential Duties:

    • Capture customer needs and system level requirements working with various stakeholders.
    • Manage product and system specifications, drive validation activities, and coordinate technical reviews.
    • Define systems test strategy, perform hands-on product integration, and maintain Statements of Requirements (SOR).
    • Support product development plans, interface with internal teams, and provide technical support for projects.
    • Train, coach, and mentor less experienced Engineers proactively.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software or related engineering field.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in a STEM major (Physics, Technology, Engineering, Math).
    • Experience in systems engineering and/or requirements management in product development.
    • Proficiency in microprocessor hardware interfacing techniques.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering or related discipline with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to influence and deliver results in a cross-functional environment.
    • Experience with connected device development and integration.
    • Proficient in creating diagrams, schematics, and wiring harness designs.

    Knowledge:

    • Detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Understanding and application of engineering principles and communication protocols.

    Physical demands:

    The role involves regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Conditions may include computer-based work, requiring sitting, close vision, and occasional travel.
