- Monitor and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by clients and shift staff
- Contacts appropriate supervisor when issues arise
- Ensures all parties are contacted when clients arrive or are discharged
- Maintains storage order and storage documentation
- Ensures room searches are done on each shift
- Ensures camera system and phones are monitored at all times
- Ensures safety of all clients in the facility
- Ensures all intakes are done properly and in a timely manner
- Ensures all RHOAR equipment is stored properly when used for intake, drug screens, cleaning, etc.
- Maintains client confidentiality, privacy and demonstrate ethical behavior at all times.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures
- Provides information to potential clients and referral sources/database inputs.
- Conducts initial screenings and may be required to maintain waiting lists.
- Transport clients as needed.
- Initiates file on each new client upon admission. Keep file documentation up to date, including progress notes, census forms, discharge sheets, staff notes and other documentation as necessary.
- Monitor and document client vital signs.
- Monitors the general health of clients, including distressed withdrawal, and refer to outside services when necessary.
- Takes appropriate action in crisis situations (violence or threats of violence; suicide and threats of suicide; natural disasters; and health crisis situations when EMS or 911 is necessary).
- Performs safety checks on all beds every hour.
- Participates in all scheduled trainings and meetings.
- Completes all required shift documentation.

- Physically able to reach, push, pull, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 20 pounds
- Possess a valid Driver's License, maintain a safe driving record, and maintain the required minimum vehicle insurance amount for the State of Kentucky, if required for job performance.
- Hours of work may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands.
- Position may require duties to include routine or reasonable anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
- All staff are required to participate in yearly trainings regarding infection control and safety in the environment including hazardous waste and blood borne pathogens.
- All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence or other escalating and potential dangerous situations including when police need to be summoned.
- All staff must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation within one month of employment and maintain the certification, if providing direct care.

Job DescriptionJob Title: Shift Supervisor
Summary of Job Duties: The Shift Supervisor ensures the safety of clients at all times. To perform safety checks, monitor behavior as well as enforce rules and guidelines.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of women's issues in recovery is helpful. If in recovery, a minimum of 1 year continuous abstinence from drugs/alcohol as well as working an active recovery program is required. Submit to and pass a criminal record check and a drug screening test.
This position reports directly to the SOS Supervisor and/or Cumberland River RHOAR Program Director.
