    GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:


    We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research lab focused on NIH-funded clinical and translational research related to substance use disorders.

    The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to advance our understanding of novel pharmacologic and psychosocial interventions, including psychedelics, as treatments for substance use disorders and related medical and psychiatric co-morbidities.

    This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in both general medical settings and human laboratory environments.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with the planning, designing, implementing, and executing NIH-funded clinical studies related to the treatment of substance use disorders, with a focus on opioid and alcohol use disorders.
    • Employ both pharmacologic and psychosocial interventions, including psychedelics.
    • Investigate treatment approaches in acute care settings, including hospitals and emergency departments, as well as in controlled human laboratory environments.
    • Collaborate with team members to evaluate neurobiologic mechanisms underlying substance use disorders.
    • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations and collaborate with internal and external project teams for presenting research findings at conferences and meetings.
    • Contribute to scholarly publications and build an active research/publication record
    • Assisting with grant writing and manuscript preparation including generating graphs and reports
    • Working with and mentoring undergraduate student interns
    • Facilitate lab journal club meetings

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES:

    • Experience in the conduct of clinical trials using pharmacologic and psychosocial treatments.
    • Use of behavioral paradigms relevant to substance use disorder research.
    • Proficiency in data processing and analysis (R, SAS, or similar),
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS


    • Doctoral degree (e.g. MD, PhD, PsyD, ScD) from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, neuroscience, pharmacology).

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Strong background in clinical or translational research.
    • Familiarity with substance use disorder treatments including pharmacologic and psychosocial interventions.
    • Previous experience in conducting research in acute care settings, human laboratory research, or neuroimaging are advantageous.
