    This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week. at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
    Role
    The Hardware and Infrastructure Architect will work inside the mainline electrical hardware innovation team. The role will support manufacturing engineering to redefine vehicle testing for SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) 2.0 programs.

    They will be serving as the architect to complete the proof-of-concept bench testing activities, focusing on redesigning manufacturing test HW and IT applications.

    This functional expert will work closely with product engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to meet program timing and major project milestones.

    What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
    Host workgroups assigned to projects involved with the execution of the SDV testing

    Lead workshops and Controller verification frames (CVF) demos for PoC at the manufacturing lab

    Coach other mainline electrical MEs fostering One Team behaviors

    Innovate equipment to enable testing on in-process testers on a partial CAN/Ethernet networks of subassemblies

    Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group include PE and IT resources

    Provide technical assistance to develop new product engineering test requirements (PETR)

    De-complexing the chargeport testers (CPT ) and body/trim/IP testers with new versions of the low cost continuity testers

    Find solutions to cut machine test cycle time by 50% (CPT 3.0, IP testers)

    Build new relationships with new test equipment suppliers

    Enable manufacturing teams to reduce headcount through vehicle testing (VaaT) and MCPU saving with HW solutions while still protecting E-FTQ and Warranty metrics through launch and steady-state

    Key consultant for Advanced vehicle development (AVD) product HW design task force for SDV2.

    Define the power/ground paths for vehicle testing (VaaT), energy management and associated plant infrastructure to provide reliable energy for vehicle loads in each station

    Develop HW innovations to enable vehicle testing (VaaT), start early in Trim

    25% travel required within North America region
