    is currently seeking a

    Engineer V ,

    Civil/Structural

    for a direct hire position located in our

    Charlotte, NC or Stonington, CT

    office. Job Posting No. 2022ZNE113ECTR or 2021ZNE113ENCR. This is an in-office position in either our Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC office.

    Position Synopsis :

    Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving nuclear power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff.

    This position will offer the ability to directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, piping stress analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.

    Knowledge of the design and/or operation of PWR and/or BWR plants, including primary and secondary systems and experience with feasibility studies, equipment reliability issues, system modifications and upgrades to improve safety and reliability is desirable.

    Individual will develop calculations, modifications and designs.

    Individual will possess technical knowledge of the civil/structural discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety and reliability.

    Education

    Required (minimum):
    BS in Civil (Structural) Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.


    Experience Required (minimum) : 18 years (minimum) of experience developing calculations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, system modifications and plant upgrades.

    Candidates shall have experience with the design and analysis of steel structures and reinforced concrete with working knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AWS and IBC.

    8 years (minimum) experience in the nuclear power industry and actual field experience on nuclear plant projects with knowledge of the design and/or operation of PWR and/or BWR plants, including primary and secondary systems.

    Proficiency in structural analysis software including GT STRUDL, PD STRUDL, and/or STAAD.Pro and the ability to perform dynamic analyses with any of the aforementioned software.


    Other Required Qualifications (minimum) : All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.

    Proficiency in Mathcad, Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures and processes. Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.

    Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.

    Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with occasional periods of field/office work.

    Certification(s) or License(s)

    Required (minimum):
    Professional Engineering (PE) registration.

    Education:
    MS in Civil (Structural) from an ABET accredited university.

    Preferred

    Experience:
    Proficiency in piping analysis software including ADLPIPE and AutoPIPE.

    Experience with Soil Structure Interaction (SSI) effects, blast analysis, flood protection, and block wall evaluations, along with applicable industry software.

    Experience with industry codes including AISI, ASME/ANSI B31.1, IEEE 344, and SMACNA is preferred.
