    Description
    The Shipping/Receiving Lead is a working supervisory position and is responsible for the management and oversight of the shipping and receiving departments. Lead Specific Responsibilities

    Position Specific Responsibilities
    • Responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are correctly packed, documented and recorded in the ERP system and monitored to ensure on time delivery.
    • Manage all Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory, perform regular inventory counts, trace errors and adjust accordingly.
    • Maintain packaging inventory and order materials needed for the shipping area. Work with suppliers to negotiate packaging costs, design and delivery schedule.
    • Manage freight company relations to include rate negotiation, on-time and cost effective shipment schedules and approve invoices for payment.
    • Create necessary documents for all outgoing international shipments.
    • Communicate each day with the Planners concerning the quantities of the parts being shipped and where they will be shipped to.
    • Receive and distribute all daily deliveries from UPS, FedEx and other companies. Verify merchandise received is not damaged and matches the packing slip and invoice.
    • Initiate problem solving and process improvement in the department using Lean techniques.
    • Perform other duties as necessary.
    Qualifications & Requirements
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • 2 or more years' experience in shipping, receiving and/or inventory management.
    • Domestic and International shipping experience required.
    • Supervisory experience or a demonstrated ability to lead and direct others.
    • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Experience with inventory management.
    • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet. Experience with ERP software (Epicor desired).
    • Must possess valid driver's license from his/her state of residence, forklift certifiable, able to obtain DOT health card.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of forty-five pounds in a safe manner and request assistance when needed.
    • Moderate physical activity requiring agility and manual dexterity, including walking and standing for extended periods of time, or bending as well as lifting or moving objects.
