Position Description:
The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a crucial role in maintaining key performance indicators related to safety, performance, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, training, and lean practices.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and overseeing manpower, machinery, and materials to meet production requirements efficiently and sustainably.
This role is also responsible for spearheading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, focusing on safety, productivity, problems solving, employee relations, and financial performance within their assigned area.
The Production Supervisor oversees the 2nd shift schedule and ensures smooth operations from Monday to Friday, 3-11 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and develop direct reports effectively
- Prioritize safety initiatives and compliance
- Conduct employee training and evaluations
- Implement and maintain the 5S process for departmental organization
- Foster a positive and engaging team culture
- Utilize lean tools and procedures for process optimization
Ensure production needs are met, coordinate machine repairs, manage labor concerns, maintain quality standards, and promote harmonious working relationships both internally and externally.
Required qualifications include a High School diploma or GED (Bachelor's Degree Preferred), 1-3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience, strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, and familiarity with SAP and Kronos.
