    Description

    Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.

    While utilizing The Zoo's Point of Sale and credit card processing systems, conduct sales transactions with individual customers as well as group representatives.

    Answer visitor questions and give directions, ensuring that Zoo guests receive assistance and accurate information as needed.

    Ensure accurate sales transactions.

    Perform daily opening and closing cash drawer procedures.

    Ensures retail locations are kept clean, uncluttered and merchandised appropriately.

    Follows safety protocols.

    Retail Sales Team Members are responsible for selling Zoo Merchandise and Apparel and providing customer service in a variety of capacities dependent upon guest attendance, special programs, special events, and other related business needs.

    ***Essential Functions:***

    **Supervisory Responsibility:** This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    ***Expected Hours of Work:*** This is a seasonal part-time position which regularly requires weekend availability. Weekend and Weekday 4 - 6 hour shifts available.

    ***Education and Experience Needed:***

    Some high school education preferred.

    ***Preferred Education and Experience:*** Previous cash handling experience in entertainment, sports or hospitality organization. Bi-lingual or ability to effectively communicate with individuals who speak different languages.

    ***Work Environment***

    Performing the duties of this job requires working independently in an retail outlets and extensive interaction with the public. The employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when on Zoo grounds during peak times.

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The employee is frequently required to sit or stand for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
