- Interrogates, re-programs ICD, PM and implanted Event Monitoring devices, with full understanding of the functions, features, programmers and process.
- Collects, documents and processes of the data obtained during evaluation of ICD, PM and implanted event Monitoring devices.
- Documents clinical data and patient responses in medical record, reports any abnormal findings.
- Provides instruction and technical demonstrations to patients, their families and other health care professionals.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Complies with health and safety standards and guidelines such as maintaining a safe environment, reporting and recording of health and safety-related incidents, demonstrating understanding of emergency plans, and safe use of department equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- 2 years of clinical experience preferred, would consider 6 months of relevant experience in a Cardiology setting.
- Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team. Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.

Position Purpose:
Under limited supervision, the Cardiac Device Technician is responsible for interrogation and reprogramming, overseeing patient flow, follow up and evaluation of implanted cardiac defibrillators (ICD), pacemakers (PM) and Event Monitors under the supervision of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician.
