    We are looking for an experienced PROJECT SAFETY COORDINATOR for a renewable energy project located in Vista, California. The ideal candidate will report to the Director of EH&S.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The safety coordinator will provide day-to-day direction, leadership, coaching, and sound judgment to eliminate or reduce at-risk enrivornments and behaviors in the workplace.
    • Assists management and supervision in inspection of workplaces to ensure safe and healthful conditions for the employees. These operations include substation and mass battery storage system construction.
    • Assists and conducts all necessary training related to the OSHA construction standards as well as the Sargent Electric Safety Program.
    • Conducts accident investigations to discover root causal factors and implement action items to avoid reoccurence.
    • New employee onboarding will be the responsibility of the Safety Coordinator.
    • Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.

    SKILLS:

    • Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.
    • Works efficiently under tight time frames, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player.
    • Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Heath (or similar field).
    • Fluency in CFR 1910/1926.
    • 3-5 years' experience in a safety management role.
    • Familiarity with hazards associated with electrical installations.
    • Strong planning, prioritzing, and presentation skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • OSHA 500 Outreach Instructor
    • CHST, CUSP, ASP, CSP certifications
