    Position description

The UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is actively recruiting for two full-time Diagnostic Pediatric Radiologists in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and credentials).

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential for appointment in this series.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.

Clinical responsibilities include all areas of pediatric radiology (radiographs, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI). Clinical service coverage is divided between UC Davis Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Daily and call coverage is divided equally among all faculty within the division. Most teaching is conducted during daily read out sessions with residents. Pediatric Radiology faculty also share in the division's responsibility to deliver didactic and case-based conferences to Radiology residents and medical students rotating in Radiology. The group participates actively in multidisciplinary conferences.

The Department of Radiology performs approximately 400,000 examinations per year and has 45 full-time faculty, including 7 Pediatric Radiologists. The department has state-of-the-art equipment, including new MRI scanners and a brand-new pediatric fluoroscopy suite. It is the country's first adopter of the new ultra high-resolution Cannon CT scanner. The new Explorer total-body PET/CT scanner offers abundant research opportunities. Both UC Davis Health and Shriners Hospitals for Children offer EOS imaging systems for ultra low-dose radiography. UC Davis Health is the first children's hospital on the west coast and the fourth in the nation to be designated a center for Children's Surgery Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (CSPIPS).

Sacramento is at the heart of Northern California and is close to such attractions as San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Monterey, and Yosemite. It is culturally diverse and a wonderful place to raise a family, with affordable housing and multiple parks, rivers, and bicycle trails. Known as the "City of Trees," Sacramento has been named one of the Ten Best Cities for Urban Forest. The city is also being promoted as "America's Farm to Fork Capital," with a growing dining scene that can compete with larger cities across the US. A newly built sports and entertainment arena offers a year-round venue for sports, concerts, and other events.

Completed applications will be reviewed on a regular basis, with the first review on January 30, 2024, however, the position will remain open until filled or until the search end date. Qualified applicants should apply online at UC Recruit:
