- Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and follow dealership procedures.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for other repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- Complete assigned training as directed by the supervisor, funded by the dealership.
- 2+ years of Service Technician experience working with diesel-operated vehicles
- High school diploma or equivalent education/work experience
- ASE Certification required
- Diagnostic and Engine Repair experience
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to arrive to work on time.
- Light-duty diesel engine repair experience preferred
- Graduates with diesel training from a technical school/institute are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent customer service skills and essential computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
- Teammate with the ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
