DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Houston Public Library (HPL) is seeking an energetic, flexible, team-oriented person with superior interpersonal, organization and communication skills and a passion for customer service to work as a Customer Service Clerk in the African American History Research Center at the Gregory School. This archival history research center documents the community traditions and history of African Americans in Houston through the preservation of primary sources.
HPL serves a population of 2.2 million citizens through a network of 37 Neighborhood Libraries, three History Research Centers, and a Central Library.?The successful candidate will communicate effectively, provide exceptional customer service, answer questions, lead tours, maintain gift shop inventory, and enjoy interacting with people of all ages from diverse backgrounds.?
Essential job duties and responsibilities include:
Working ConditionsThere are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
