- Electrical detail drawings
- Interface daily with individual project managers on the electrical engineering needs for their projects.
- Lead the development of technical specifications for secondary power systems.
- Requires extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials, and applications of computer software to engineering problems to ensure the design is cost effective, in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements and engineering codes and standards.
- Be familiar with all industrial codes regarding power distribution and electrical equipment specification and installation.
- Responsible for gathering project requirements, developing designs to meet the client's needs: cost estimates, pre-build project schedules, engineered drawings, specifications and datasheets, procuring materials, and client handover. (Concept to Commission)
- Receives minimal supervision on unusual or difficult problems, and general review of all aspects or work.
- Communicate with field staff and vendors during project execution.
- Domestic travel is required. Travel will include trips to plant sites, equipment fabricators, outside engineering firms, and customer locations (estimated at 5 – 10%).
- Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Seven or more years of experience in related field.
- Ability to make balanced decisions weighing operability, reliability, capital costs, and operating costs.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC).
- Experience in managing small to mid-size projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, project team members, and other staff.
- Ability to pass an in-depth background check and drug screening.
- 10 or more years of experience in related field.

J H Operating Company, LLC, a Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management firm primarily supporting the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry, has an opening in for an Electrical Engineer.
The Electrical Engineer will support clients through the management of projects from concept to commissioning by leading and/or participating in the design, specification, & procurement of each project. The projects will typically be greenfield capital projects on oil and gas facilities. The role and skill set is a key position in expanding JH's services in the electrical space. All electrical engineering to date has been subcontracted. This position will be largely responsible for developing JH's electrical engineering practices and designs.
The position will report to Karla Orth, Vice President of Engineering.
