    Description
    POSITION: Academics Director The Director of Academics (DA) will assist the Director of Programs to accomplish the CSF's mission and vision. The successful candidate will focus mainly on curriculum development, instruction implementation, student and teacher assessments, and professional development for academic staff. The DA is responsible for the effective delivery of all educational programs for the Community Services Foundation (CSF) 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Out of School Time (OST) program and support of the CSF Program Team inclusive of the Director of Program, Program Specialists, Site Directors and Assistant Site Directors to ensure achievement of the program objectives. Responsibilities include:
    • Hiring, managing, evaluating, and developing academic staff.
    • Conducting academic staff evaluation, curriculum development, and assessment.
    • Collecting and analyzing all academic data analysis and intervention programs (IEP, ESOL, PRP, etc.)
    • Reviewing and interpreting student data (inclusive of grades, standardized test results, attendance, etc.)
    • Coordinating teacher training and professional development.
    • Participating in the development of a personal education plan for each assigned student.
    • Maintaining calendars, content, and school data.
    • Collaborating with Director of Programs and Evaluator in reporting School Academic Performance to Maryland State Department of Education and steering committee partners.
    • Management of student data in Social Solution Software.
    Additional Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Education, or related field, required.
    • At least five (5) years experience as a classroom teacher; At least two (2) years of experience as a teacher evaluator.
    • Experience in curriculum development for OST programming.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with Program staff and Instructional staff.
    • Ability to interpret data and identify performance gaps.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is predominantly an office/clerical environment. Primary office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:30; schedule may shift to start earlier, end later, or involve weekend work based on business needs, workload, and other factors.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, write, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle or feel (e.g. type, write, etc.); and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have reliable transportation and ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements and to facilitate on-site visits to properties (10% travel estimated).
