This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent degree (GED).1+ years of lab experience - academic or industryPerforms animal husbandry and health care in accordance with experimental protocol and Animal Welfare Act/Regulations NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research and Teaching company policies Veterinary Sciences standard operating procedures AAALAC accreditation performs duties under Biosafety Level 1 and 2 conditions Complies with applicable regulations documents maintains records animal care preventive medicine USDA-required study protocol-driven documents provides enrichment materials Maintains adjusts repairs animal pens feeders drinking systems livestock handling equipment Performs cleaning sanitation animal rooms equipment May provide supervision junior team members delegation GroupTeam Leader site management Restrains manipulates animals routine emergency procedures Recognizes when animals sick distressed normal communicates observations Site Veterinarian GroupTeam Leader Conducts daily animal health welfare assessments Administers treatment animals direction Site Veterinarian delegate Conducts scientific clinical observations disease outcome assessments May administer monitor sedation conducts euthanasia study protocols direction Site Veterinarian delegate Assists clinical R D sample collection pre post-mortem study protocols direction Investigator delegate Sample types include blood feces oral fluids nasal tonsillar laryngeal swabs tissues etc Assists necropsies direction Site Veterinarian delegate.Job description
