Purpose of Position
The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Biomedical Sciences, is recruiting for a tenure-track assistant professor.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate human anatomy & physiology lecture and lab courses.
Teach medical lectures and PCL facilitation in the medical school curriculum.
Teach graduate lectures in anatomy, cell biology, and physiology in the graduate curriculum.
Maintain an active educational scholarship research program.
Contribute to written reports and other documents as needed by the department.
Teach undergraduate BIMD 220/220L (Human Anatomy and Physiology Lecture and Lab) and BIMD 492 Peer teaching in person fall and spring.
Teach students in the medical/graduate school curriculum and PCL facilitation.
Scholarly Activity in the form of education research.
Serve on school and department committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
PhD or terminal degree at the time of hire with expertise in anatomy & physiology commensurate with rank.
Experience with teaching at the level of a college or university.
Willingness to participate in undergraduate, medical, and graduate education.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with teaching undergraduate human anatomy & physiology courses.
Experience in education-based scholarship.
Experience with the Blackboard Learning Management System.
Experience with active learning and flipped classroom style of teaching.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
