    Description
    • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth/development to provide age specific treatment/care.
    • Demonstrates knowledge/skills to perform diagnostic procedures in one or more modalities: General Radiography; CAT Scan; Pain Management; Fluoroscopy, OR procedures, DEXA, and Mammography.
    • Ensures patients are properly identified/prepared for diagnostic procedures; positions patient immobilization/support devices; adjusts lead shield.
    • Adjusts equipment, determines voltage, current, exposure time; operates equipment to produce quality images as required by the Radiologist.
    • Operates mobile equipment to perform OR, ED, and/or bedside procedures.
    • Transports patients to/from the department; assists in the general care of patients in the department.
    • Participates in the clinical training of radiology students providing instruction, supervision, and/or evaluation.
    • Utilizes PACS to maintain accurate patient records; prepares discs to route studies to other facilities.
    • Greets/directs patients/visitors, and performs other related clerical duties.
    • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    • Graduate of accredited program in radiological technology.
    • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART) and IDNS (Illinois Department Nuclear Safety) licensure required.

    Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge/skills to meet certification, licensure, and performance standards in all assigned modalities.
    • Demonstrated computer skills.
