    Safety Administrator Intern
    will provide administrative and support services within the HR/Safety Department of Hunter Truck.

    The Safety Administrator will help develop safety policies and procedures, organize safety committee meetings, track safety metrics, coordinate and document audits, and inspections, track incident data and corrective actions, review important safety documents, and other duties that require a high degree of computer knowledge and attention to detail.

    Monday to Friday 9:30am - 4:00pm / up to 30 hours per week

    Pursuing business, safety management, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline preferred
    2+ years of safety experience preferred.
    Extensive knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office products required: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Abides by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and complies with all company, local, state, and federal regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.

    Administrator of the corporate safety shoe program, including reporting, and coordination and scheduling of all shoe truck visits.

    Assist in the procurement, shipping, and receiving of safety equipment and other essential company supplies, ensuring timely procurement, distribution, and inventory accuracy.

    Assists Safety Director in the administration of the Worker's Compensation and Property and Casualty insurance programs by incident tracking, recordkeeping, and annual renewal preparations.

    Assists with OSHA and other regulatory agencies regarding audits, citations, accidents, and site visits.

    Assists with Safety Committee and other associated meetings or events by coordinating meetings, producing materials, maintaining minutes, publishing agendas, and providing status reports on outstanding initiatives.

    Champions and continuously promotes a high standard of safety management throughout all facilities.
    Conducts comprehensive compliance audits and inspections to identify unsafe work practices and safety non-conformities.
    Continually participates in and completes all training sessions, safety classes, meetings, and/or certifications related to the position.

    Facilitates and tracks safety training programs for all employees and contractors in areas such as general safety, defensive driver, safe lifting, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.

    Maintains, and continuously participates in, industry education and training to keep abreast of new trends and developments within the industry and government regulation.

    Occasional overnight travel required.

    Responsible for the entry and upkeep of the OSHA 300 data as it applies to all work-related accidents and illnesses for reporting and annual posting requirements.

    Routinely reviews employee and contractor safety programs to determine adequacy, consistency and uniformity within the Safety Management Plan and as required by legislation or corporate policy.

    Systematically and accurately create, record, file and track all documentation concerning corporate safety committee, training, inspections, audits, complaints, accidents, injuries, illnesses, materials, processes, equipment, permitting, and all other information pertinent to the corporate Safety program and third-party insurance providers, and generate applicable regulatory reports and analyze trends.

    Work collaboratively with management and employees, investigates safety complaints, auto and industrial accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases to determine root causes and provide recommendations on preventive measures.
