    Description

    Trade Management is currently hiring for a very high-end client located in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. We are looking for a top notch candidate that has an extensive background with commercial electrical projects. This position is a DIRECT HIRE ROLE.

    Position Summary:

    The General Superintendent is responsible for providing oversight of all field activities including organization, management, and execution of work; as well as leading, motivating and overseeing all aspects of the planning, implementation, and completion of electrical projects.

    Essential Functions:

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Monitor the work of the superintendents to ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the construction documents, budget, and schedule.
    • Ensure that the Short Interval Construction schedule is being utilized properly to control job
    • Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as
    • Assist Project Managers in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards,
    • Ensure with superintendents that all on-site personnel complies with project procedures, work rules, etc. Document all violations; notify Project Management, recommend/implement corrective actions
    • Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, scope
    • Attend job scheduling and coordination meetings as required to observe and monitor and detect any potential problems that may be
    • Monitor and document the progress of the job as required. Direct or implement solutions to ensure that the project is being constructed within
    • Support superintendents with current and accurate information
    • Assist superintendents in establishing an action plan for maximizing the quantity and quality of work
    • Track the materials in order to be knowledgeable about which materials are on-site, on order, or back-ordered. Determine an action plan for any critical items, which are on back-order.
    • Ensure job site housekeeping is in compliance with the contract
    • Monitors discipline, construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Supervisor
    • Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair as needed
    • Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards, and apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes as needed
    • Monitor and resolve matters relating to work procedures, complaints, damages, accidents, and delays
    • Confer with Superintendent and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities
    • Ensure all company safety measures and regulations are followed and enforce the use of safety equipment when required
    • Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
    • Participate in the review and processing of contracts for construction with general contractors with emphasis on work scope
    • Participate in project turnover, project startup, project percent complete meetings, preparation of project closeout package and turnover with the general contractor, and close-out meetings

    Experience and Education:

    Required:

    • Four-year Engineering Degree
    • 8 years of construction management experience and/or equivalent experience
    • Experience working as an Electrical Superintendent on high-rises
    • Florida Electrical Journeyman or Master's License
    • Valid Florida Driver's License

    Preferred:

    • Bilingual
    • Four plus (4+) years as a commercial electrician
    • Intermediate experience with AccuBid, Bluebeam, eSub, and Plangrid
    • OSHA 30

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Requires standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
    • Ability to lift items up to 25 pounds frequently.
    • Vision abilities for close and distance vision.
    • Routine use of standard office equipment.
    • Must be comfortable working at heights and in hot weather conditions.

    Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:

    • Full-time, typically 40 hours per week.
    • Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.
    • Local travel during business hours with occasional out-of-area travel.
