General Description
JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SUMMER NATURE CAMP TEACHER
Responsible professional community recreation work for the planning, organization, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a Summer Nature Camp Program for children.
Essential Job Functions
Organizes, directs, and leads a group of approximately 15 children in an environmental education based nature camp program. Plans games, activities, lessons, and arts and crafts projects. Prepares lesson plans and other daily or weekly reports. Supervises a group of children ensuring safety, discipline, and communications with parents. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to bend, stoop, and squat frequently. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of college and two (2) seasons of experience working in a summer recreation or nature camp program. Candidates may substitute two seasons of summer recreation for one (1) year of college.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Valid CPR and First-Aid certifications preferred. Teacher's certification, Project Wild and Project Learning Tree Training preferred.
