    POSITION: Airport Identification Specialist

    STATUS: Part Time

    REPORTS TO: Airport Security Supervisors

    Airport Security Manager

    LOCATION: White Plains, New York

    AIRPORT: Westchester County Airport

    SUMMARY

    Under general supervision, performs various duties for the Security Department as directed by operations requirements. Follows established guidelines and procedures to ensure the efficient administration of Airport Identification System and to adhere to the importance of Confidentiality on all documents.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Performs various duties per 49 CFR Part 1542 for the issuing of Airport Identification Media to include but not limited to the following:
    • Maintain pertinent data base forms and records
    • Employee and tenant verification through access requests and identification checks
    • Perform electronic fingerprinting and review employment background checks
    • Compile and post lost ID notifications
    • Assist in the issuance and audits of all Identification Media (personal, visitor, and vehicle)
    • Assist in ID checks and inspections
    • Prepare and assist in various security reports
    • Assist in functions of access controls system
    • Assist in Airport key control system
    • Maintain equipment and working environment in clean, net and orderly condition
    • Maintain acceptable attendance and performance at required training functions
    • Maintains the Airport patrons' files containing privacy sensitive information in secure manner and prevents from unauthorized release/disclosure
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Security Manager and Supervisors

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School degree or equivalent; college desirable

    Clerical office experience, airport environment a plus

    Strong customer service skills

    Intermediate computer skills

    Ability to perform the duties of this classification to Company standards, which includes, but not limited to passing, to the satisfaction of, the Company, initial and periodic Company tests to ensure the initial and ongoing maintenance of required level of proficiency

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral , or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
