Description
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced and driven Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to be a part of their team in Watertown, NY. This is a 13-week travel nursing job providing up to 36 hours per week. The ideal candidate must have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and must possess a current NYS RN license. They should have a minimum of one year of medical/surgical experience and must demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles, be able to provide quality patient care, and assess patient needs.
The OR Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing patients before surgery, creating and executing nursing care plans, and maintaining a safe environment in the operating room. They will also be responsible for monitoring and adjusting patient vital signs, monitoring anesthesia care, and taking care of surgical instruments, among other duties.
The ideal candidate must have previous OR experience, or they must complete the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program to be considered for the position. They should also have excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to delegate tasks and prioritize patient care. The OR RN should be able to work well in stressful environments and have good creative problem-solving skills.
