    Summary of Position (Job Purpose)
    • Major purpose and functions of the position.

    The Director of Financial Systems will be responsible for overseeing the Financial Systems for a Fortune 150 company with over 16,500 retail locations, 27 distribution centers and store support centers in both the United States and Canada.

    The Director operates as the liaison between the Finance department and IT department (and other departments) to determine appropriate system-related solutions to business issues.

    The Director ensures that correct business functionality, requirements, internal controls, and departmental standards are addressed within the software applications and analyzes the impact of new initiatives on financial systems and on the integrity of data within the financial systems.

    The Director will assist the Chief Accounting Officer in developing a roadmap for financial system changes over the next 3-5 years in connection with improving the existing processes through optimization of existing systems and tools, and robotic process automation.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities
    • Primary responsibilities listed in order of importanceBuild and maintain relationships with IT and other departments to provide leadership regarding the companys systems which support its processes and reporting (financial, inventory and procurement systems), including sharing ideas for system related solutions for company initiatives.
    Lead implementations/testing, document processes and procedures for new financial systems and for financial systems projects.

    Evaluate current processes within Finance and provide recommendations for efficiency and internal control enhancements utilizing automation tools like RPA as well as existing systems/tools/functionalities.

    Manage, train and develop direct report(s).

    Act as a first level help desk for users on issues relating to the use of financial systems:

    Lawson GL, AP, AR, Payroll/HR, Cash, Asset Management, ProcurementInventory Systems (JDA, Retek)InterfacesTrain users, where needed, to maximize the efficient use of Lawson, Showcase, Add-ins, Queries, etc.

    Setup and maintain Finance systems such as Lawson Finance, Procurement, Payroll, Sales Audit, Inventory, BlacklineConduct research and analysis into the nature, effect, and results of system issuesServe as Systems Administrator for Lawson and other financial systems (Blackline, etc.)Design and manage processes for intercompany receivables and payables; reconcile related general ledger accounts.

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

    Bachelors Degree and/or Masters degree in Business/Finance (Systems, Accounting preferred)10+ years of system implementation experience with intricate knowledge of finance systems and interfacesExcellent communication skills both written and verbalStrong analytical, technical and computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint and VisioExperience with SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.)
