    JOB DESCRIPTION:

At NOMOS, we strive to provide a fresh, modern design aesthetic that helps build human connections between consumers and the law firms we work with. As a Website Graphic Designer, you will help build brand packages that visually communicate our clients' unique personalities, design landing pages that convert web visitors into clients, and craft modern law firm websites that tell our clients' unique stories. We are looking for a creative designer interested in executing logo design, front end web design, and other creative projects. Starting out, the position will be roughly 10% creative projects, 20% branding, and 70% web design. Through your guidance and positive attitude, you'll walk our clients through the design process with confidence and provide constructive feedback that will empower your team members to produce their best work. Conviction in your design chops, clarity in your communication, and a knack for big-picture thinking are key elements of this role.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Branding: You'll start by interviewing branding clients to figure out their aesthetic and practice preferences. Then it's time to hit the digital drawing board and create and revise logos until the team and client settle on the final product.
    • Print Design & Other Collateral: You'll need to produce creative, engaging designs for marketing collateral including brochures, office stationery, advertisements, and any other design needs that come up for both our clients and our internal NOMOS brand.
    • Designing & Building Websites and Landing Pages: Our web team builds sites in Webflow, but they turn to the design team to help elevate the quality. We create sites from scratch, and the design team is responsible for styling, wireframing, and prototyping sites in Figma. You will create unique, aesthetically exciting websites that reflect the clients' brand while adhering to our high quality standards.
    • Creative Direction: Conceptualizing logos, web page layouts, print designs and user interactions are critical to successful design projects. You will provide clients with suggested color palettes, typography pairings, iconography and high-level web page layouts to help them accomplish their marketing objectives.
    • Quality Assurance: You ensure that your own work and that of your peers is branded appropriately for each client, accurate, and high-quality. From reviewing appropriate padding, alignment and animation execution to testing mobile device responsiveness for web projects, you will always strive for an aesthetic that is fresh and effective.
    • Marketing Strategy: You will make recommendations on design, conversion opportunities, and user experience to make the most of a client's marketing package. You will participate in client kick-off calls and speak directly with the end client. You think critically and make judgments in the best interest of the law firm's target audience.
    CORE COMPETENCIES:
    • Intuitive Communication: You will interface directly with clients at specific touch points and will be responsible for communicating clearly and effectively, both with clients and internal teams. You must be personable, professional, and responsive. You will need to know when to ask the right questions and be prepared to get answers to our front line sales and client success teams quickly and accurately.
    • Obsessive Attention to Detail: Website Graphic Designers must recognize when spacing isn't quite right or an extra digit exists in a phone number. You will share accountability for the accuracy and quality of our company's work. Attention to detail is crucial, so please include the title of your favorite movie or book at the beginning of your email or application.
    • Expert Organization and Project Management: If someone asks you to describe yourself and you wouldn't say "organized," you need not apply. Website Graphic Designers must be organized and able to multitask many projects at once, hitting your deliverable deadlines at various stages of the project lifecycle. A honed sense of urgency in order to prioritize your workload is paramount to success at our agency.
    • Keen Analytical Skills: We measure everything we do by its ROI. You will need a basic understanding of marketing metrics and KPIs, along with the ability to dissect and solve problems through data. Working on and with the web team, you will need to be able to recognize when an approach isn't working and make suggestions to improve our processes and procedures in order to gain back efficiencies that ultimately benefit our clients' website projects.
    • Storyteller: We are looking for someone with a creative eye that loves celebrating small businesses by telling their unique stories through handcrafted designs. Being able to translate a client's brand into stand out work is essential.
    • Excellent Communicator: Designers at NOMOS need to elaborate on their work for clients, and often in easy language; many dentists hear gibberish when you toss around terms like "sans serif" and "hex codes." We need someone who can confidently walk clients through creative processes gently but with expert guidance.
    • "Big Picture" Thinking and Knowledge of Digital Marketing: Every digital marketing service we offer ties into the next. When a client makes a request to update their website, how will that affect their SEO or PPC campaigns? We need someone who can see the connections and make good choices for both the client and the agency as a whole.
    • Resourceful and Confident Self-Starter: Once you learn the ropes, we'll expect you to own your projects to keep them moving forward. You will need to take the initiative to make decisions and recommendations, and to follow up with Client Success Managers to progress projects and hit our monthly projections. You will solve problems every single day, so we need someone with a solutions-oriented mind.
    • Takes Pride In Work: We need someone who takes any project, big or small, and puts everything they have into it. Mistakes are okay. Sloppiness is not.
    PERSONALITY MUSTS:

Our perfect fit is someone who is a problem solver who understands the difference between "yes, and..." and "yes, but...". You should be a hungry, scrappy personality with a positive attitude and aims to deliver. Working in the client service industry can mean going the extra mile, and we need someone who is always willing to rise to the occasion for our clients and strives to put forward beautiful work that exceeds client expectations. Someone who is detailed and organized, driven and displays vigor and comes ready to play every day. Confidence, self-discipline, and a congenial, curious mind are things we love and admire.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 2+ years of client-facing design experience — in-house, agency, or freelance will be considered. We are mostly looking to see if you have direct experience working with clients
    • Expertise in design software — Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom are frequently used in this role. We prototype website designs in Figma and build websites in Webflow
    • A passion for helping clients and small businesses succeed
    BONUS POINTS FOR APPLICANTS WITH:

(if you don't have these but are organized and want to learn, we want to hear from you)

    • Volume web design experience in an agency setting
    • Digital marketing experience (including but not limited to: Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEO, Social Media Content and Ads Management)
    • Project management experience
    • UX/UI design background
    • Knowledge of legal industry
