    We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Intermediate Parts Counter Person (Temp) position

    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Under the general direction of the Pacific Region Parts Manager and with the assistance of the Senior Parts Counter People, the Intermediate Parts Counterperson sells parts to phone and walk in customer.

    The Intermediate Parts Counterperson performs clerical and backorder functions as required.
    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • With the assistance of the Senior Parts Counter Person, makes every effort to learn all phases of the parts business and products necessary to serve customers accurately and efficiently.
    • As required, attends parts training sessions conducted by Hawthorne Pacific Corp.'s training instructor and factory representatives.
    • Understands basic interpretations of the parts microfiche and parts reference books, including those on CD Rom, to the degree that the customers are supplied with the correct parts.
    • Keeps informed of the latest developments in equipment design and parts changeovers by studying all factory bulletins and other releases pertinent to the parts sales function.
    • Takes parts orders from walk in and telephone customers. Such orders may be placed by part number, description, or both.
    • Ensures that the correct part or parts are supplied for the specific model and serial number of the equipment involved.
    • Determines if the customer has ordered enough parts to perform repairs and makes suggestions for related or additional parts if it is required to finish the job completely.
    • Is alert to sales opportunities regarding changeover groups and special attachments.
    • Participates actively in all parts sale's programs.
    • Inputs parts sales orders in a minimum amount of time with maximum accuracy, and in strict accordance with the Credit Department procedures. After inputting the customers order, advises the customer of the status of the parts. Informs the customer which parts are in stock and which ones are backordered. If the part is a backorder, advises the customer of the approximate time it will arrive.
    • Performs parts clerical and backorder functions including back ordering and tracing for all vendors. Charges out freight when appropriate and makes claims to vendors for any overages or shortages of parts.
    • Traces and follows up on all V.I.P. orders, making sure parts are shipped as expected and informs all concerned of any changes. Ensures all charges are logged in freight book and billed to the customer.
    • Advises customers when their backorder parts arrive and adds appropriate freight charges to their invoice.
    • Performs other parts department duties as required.
    • Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
    • Must have PC skills.
    • Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Walking:
    Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.

    • Handling:
    Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

    • Lifting:
    Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.

    • Reaching:
    Extends hands and arms in any direction.

    • Stooping:
    Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

    • Standing:
    Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

    • Vision:
    Reads paperwork, files, and records on the computer.

    • Talking:
    Communicates by phone and in person.

    • Sitting:
    Sits at desk for extended periods.

    • Lifting:
    Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

    ENVIRONMENTAL:

    • Noise:
    Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

    • Temp/Weather:
    Works in an office and warehouse environment with variations of temperature and weather.

    • Exposure:
    Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
