    Description

    Summary



    Incumbent serves as the Clinical Application Coordinator (CAC), the primary purpose is to improve patient care through the use of automation tools such as the computerized of clinical information to improve the standard of direct patient care.

    This remote site offers specialty services of Outpatient departments at Tsaile Health Center, Nursing Services, Tsaile, Arizona.

    Duties



    Provides clinical application coordination. Implements, evaluates, trains and provides ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications used in the hospital and clinic setting.

    This involves the use of the multi-service applications that support the Indian Health Service Electronic Center Health Record (EHR) and the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) as defined, but not limited to Patient Care Component (PCC), Text-Integration Utility (TIU), Case Management, Health Summary, and View Patient Record (VPR).

    Consults with the service lines and their staff in customizing software and training individuals in the daily operation of the packages as well as how the packages integrate with each other; works with other application coordinators for the implementation of a comprehensive, standardized integrated health care information system to support the clinical software packages.

    Coordinates with Nursing Informatics, IRM staff and other application coordinators to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts; Works with programmers in local testing of software, identifying software problems and requesting enhancements; logs all problems, refers those requiring a higher level of technical support to the appropriate person or team.

    Performs comprehensive professional nursing duties for the care of patients with a variety of injuries and illnesses in all age groups and their families who present with an unlimited range of health problems.
