Join our client on their Program Management & Enabling Technologies team as a Senior Backend Developer. This role blends technical expertise with innovative thinking, playing a pivotal role in designing and optimizing systems, developing integrations, and rendering complex data both accessible and insightful. Responsibilities

• Utilize the current tech stack including Go (Golang), PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Power BI.
• Build and maintain API, Database, and file-based integrations with data from an increasingly diverse array of sources.
• Develop well-structured, reliable, efficient, and easily maintainable code alongside robust database schemas.
• Work independently and collaboratively with other software engineers on cross-team projects.
• Lead and contribute to peer code reviews, internal infrastructure, and process improvements.
• Create end-to-end workflow diagrams and documentation to facilitate collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design and develop integrations that connect and pull data from multiple systems, including REST APIs, database servers, and flat files via SFTP.
• Expertise in architecting and building systems from the ground up, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL) and proficiency in SQL.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in statically-typed languages such as Java, Go, C, C++, C#, etc.
• Skilled in importing and processing data in various formats like JSON, XML, CSV, Excel.
• Experienced in handling both structured/relational and unstructured data.
• Proficient in using source control software like Git, with platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in diagrams, in writing, and verbally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly independent with excellent time management, prioritization of tasks, and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence or reporting tools, preferably Power BI.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Knowledge of deploying applications using Kubernetes and Docker and crafting Dockerfiles.
• Prior work experience with Financial or Operations teams, or in a Feature or Streaming Production environment.
• Must possess a startup mindset, be energetic, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Submission of GitHub or other code samples is required as part of the application process.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $80-$85 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
