Role Overview

Coupang Play's Analytics team operates at the nexus of business, product, marketing and technology to help the business grow subscribers and drive mission-critical key performance indicators.

As a Senior Data Analyst on the Analytics team, you'll work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to develop, scale and uplevel data infrastructure and tools that drive bespoke business reporting and forecasting needs, as well as use data-driven techniques to solve complex business problems.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can develop a strong perspective on what product analytics should look like at Play, can work with teams to understand ambiguous challenges and deploy robust technical solutions that solve problems, increase process efficiencies, empower business owners to make strategic decisions, and drive Play's overall growth.

What You Will Do

Use your strategic insight and technical expertise to drive user growth and maturity of our data infrastructure and business reporting solutions.

Cultivate a deep understanding of Coupang Play's product and business data to be able to wrangle unstructured data from source systems, and architect and deploy robust data pipelines

Partner closely with our product managers and data engineers to improve quality and coverage of feature logging to enable product funnel and user journey deep dives

Partner closely and communicate effectively with senior leaders and product managers to translate loose business questions into clear and actionable reports, insights and recommendations using sound and complex data analysis

Develop bespoke business intelligence solutions such as dashboards, reports and visualizations that delight stakeholders, drive effective decision-making and enable monitoring of key business metrics

Use SQL, Hive, Airflow, Presto, Python, Tableau and Redash as part of your analytical toolkit

Identify recurring analyses and deploy automation solutions that improve or eliminate manual work

Drive ad-hoc, end-to-end analysis into strategic issues as needed by management.

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data science or data engineering roles.

5+ years of practical experience using SQL to manipulate complex and unstructured data sets

5+ years of practical experience maintaining data marts and data pipelines via ETL tools such as Airflow, Hive, Presto, etc.

5+ years practical experience building executive-level dashboards and visualizations with tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView, etc.

Strong statistical knowledge and intuition - ideally utilized in experimentation or other product analytics settings to interpret test results and present findings to a non-technical audience.

Practical experience using quantitative and statistical techniques to solve business problems such as hypothesis testing, regression, causal and correlation analysis, etc.

Independent problem solver able to work backwards from user/business requirements to deploy best-in-class solutions with limited guidance.

Ability to own multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Exemplary communication, writing and interpersonal skills.

As a senior, you can own and prioritize your work, manage deadlines, and help others do the same.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and/or passion in the OTT video streaming industry.

Experience working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, or other statistical software.

Experience with data modeling and schema design.
