    Description


    Effectively leads the Welt Felt Departments comprised of 125 employees, which includes direct reports of 2 General Foreman and 1 Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

    This position is accountable for the manufacturing operations of two ceiling tile forming and finishing lines. These lines supply the majoiry of ceilings offerings and products to USG customers.

    Responsible for training, motivating, and maintaining a level of safety for all department employees to provide for an efficient operation consistent with overall company safety objectives.

    Ability to proactively develop and implement process enhancements to meet plant operating requirements over the short and long term.
    Support the development of project scopes, estimates, approval documentation, arrangements, installation strategies, commissioning, and start-up of assigned projects.

    Oversight of department safety initiatives, including OSHA compliance.
    Responsible for implementing

    a strategy to ensure key performance metrics are attained.
    Interested in working with alternative resources in USG on manufacturing new products to respond to market trends.
    Support and facilitate capital project implementation.
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
    Ability to develop workforce potential and provide coaching to motivate direct reports to your team to foster employee engagement.

    Qualifications & Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.

    Prior experience as a Department Manager is a plus.
    Leadership aptitude needed to manage and develop others.
    Proven

    communication, decision making and employee relations skills. Capacity to engage employees and effectively build rapport.
    Results-oriented, with demonstrated abilities to accomplish tasks on schedule and operate within cost constraints.
    Knowledgeable of safety compliance programs with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and housekeeping.
    Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning.
    Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
    Track record driving

    continuous improvement.

    Prior exposure to LEAN Management is a plus.
    Salary may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

    Salary Range:
    $87,240-$116,280

    Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
