    That's why the people in our Electrical & Fastening Solutions segment are responsible for engineering more than 100 patents.
    As electrical systems become more complex, nVent's fastening experts focus on keeping things simple for the customer.

    Besides superior technical performance, our nVent CADDY and nVent ERICO brands of fasteners are designed for easy and intuitive installation.

    Position SummaryEnsure uninterrupted production flow in assigned process.

    Provide problem support and coaching / on-the-job training to employees to ensure the day-to-day business unit department goals are being met.

    Communicate with a variety of support resources to resolve problems.
    Key Role ResponsibilitiesProvide backup to the Production Supervisor for all assigned areas.

    Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving, decision making, as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.

    Ensure all employees are following safety, quality, and production procedures while maintaining key efficiency metricsExecute and coordinate employee training and personal developmentProvide coaching to team members to help improve performance and grow skillsetsKnowledge of Lean principles in order to lead and participate in MDI, 5S, and Kaizen activitiesDrive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodologySupport the production process by running and or setting up equipment when necessaryOperate a variety of equipment applicable within assigned area (i.e., CRTs, forklifts, etc.).Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material and information into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.

    Collaborate with leadership and department stakeholders to ensure all teams are aligned on production status and any issues are resolved in a timely fashionResponsible for ensuring that all employees are performing their duties in a safe manner, and ensuring that appropriate medical attention is provided in the event of an injuryReport any safety hazards or incidents in a timely manner.

    Provide detailed report for incidents. Participate in safety inspections.

    Adjust staffing and work flow as necessary in response to material, machine, or labor changes throughout the shiftEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or G.E.D3-5 years production work experience preferred.
    Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, MACPAC and the Internet.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


    Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production processKnowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.

    Skill in analytical thinking and problem solvingSkill in communicating effectively through oral and written communicationsSkill in following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.

    Ability to communicate job expectations to production staff and achieving desired results by monitoring, coaching, and enforcing policies and procedures.

    Ability to achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance and reporting any tardiness, attendance issues and disciplinary issues to the Production Supervisor.

    Ability to conduct operator training on standard work to include:
    work instructions, machine adjustments, product quality, company and value stream policies and procedures as required.
    Ability to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.

    Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activitiesAbility to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.

    Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
