    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

    You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

    Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

    Duties




    This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30,2024. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 10 days after the JOA is posted, with subsequent referrals will be contingent on the availability of vacant positions. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals OR as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.
    PRIMARY ROLES OF THE REGISTERED NURSE -Med/ Surg

    • Documents assessment and interventions by policy and practice standards (CPRS)
    • Conducts bedside, patient centered rounds utilizing SBAR tool and all transition of care
    • Manages patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring.
    • Manages patient in cardiac arrest
    • Manages patient with moderate sedation
    • Mentors and precepts new staff and students.
    • Manages patient with tracheotomy (capped or uncapped), CPAP and BIPA and patients requiring airway management.
    • IV therapy including Vasoactive agents, and other titration drips
    • Manages postoperative cases medsurg level of care.
    • Manages patient needing Telemetry Monitoring
    • Manages Orthopedic, General Surgery, Vascular and Urology cases Performs 12 lead EKG by policy/guidelines.

    • Responds and provides leadership during Medical Code and Rapid responses
    • Crisis intervention for unique population
    • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy and honnonal therapy agents as well as supportive infusion drug therapy, blood products and vaccinations to Oncology, Hematology and Collaborative patients.
    • Manages central IV, PICC, or implanted ports. Manages patients requiring hospice and palliative care services
