    Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Cardiac Testing - ChesapeakeFull-time, Part-timeThe Cardiac Registered Nurse will work under the direct supervision of the onsite physician, performing various professional and administrative duties related to cardiac stress testing

    Hours/Shift:
    Full-time - Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week, No nights or weekendsPart-time - Monday to Friday, 25 hours/week, Mornings, No nights or weekendsResponsibilities:Performs cardiac stress testing (nuclear and non-nuclear, exercise and pharmacological) under the supervision of the onsite physicianDuties include:Clinical chart preparation to include: review of current medications, past medical history, social history, review of systemsVital signsEKG evaluation and monitoring during stress testingAdministers via IV pharmacologic stress agent for patients unable to exerciseApplies heart monitors and instructs patients on their useAssists Ultrasound Technicians administer bubble studies and enhanced echo imaging agentsReviews cardiac test results, coordinates plan of care with ordering provider and implements with patientEnters data in the EMRProvides patient educationOther activities and responsibilities as directed

    Job Requirements:

    RN-Diploma (non-degree), RN-Associate's Degree or RN-Bachelor's Level DegreeCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferredComputer literate; prior experience with the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferredCardiac experience strongly recommendedStrong organizational and analytical skillsStrong interpersonal and patient care skillsMust have the ability to work as a team with coworkers and providersThe Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.

    The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

    The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
