Robert Wood Johnson is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Cancer Center,This is a full-time opportunity to join a dynamic team at the state s only NCI designated Cancer Center,The ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner and able to collaborate with medical and nursing colleagues.

This is a ambulatory position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following,

Patient Management
Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments; in order to identify existing or potential health problems,
Initiates and implements an individualized nursing and medical plan of care in collaboration with members of interdisciplinary team,
Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and nursing actions in conjunction with physician,
Provides follow-up care including acute and routine examinations,
Assesses progress, identify problems, initiate preventive measures, recognize emergent problems, initiate proper care in collaboration with physician,
Monitors and adjusts patients medication according to protocol or medical plan of care including adequate pain control,
Implements nutritional therapies, as appropriate,
Triages patient problem calls which requires medical attention,
Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures,
Recognizes normal and abnormal laboratory findings and the pathology involved,
Documents information in patients charts following documentation standards established by RWJ and the Cancer Institute,
Provides health education to the patient and family management of side effects, anticipatory teaching,
Manages medical emergencies as indicated, and according to standing orders,
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between health care settings,
Provides patient and family counseling and reassurance in regard to psychological and or psychosocial issues,
Initiates proper referrals to private or community agencies,
Acts as a resource and teacher for other members of the health care team,
Shares knowledge and expertise with staff,
Collaborates with the Cancer Institute's nursing and medical staff at partner and affiliate sites to coordinate continuity of care,
Evaluates the quality of care as well as the quality of life for patients through assessment of patient response and recommend interventions, as indicated,
Supports the research mission by collaborating with the research nurse.
