Description
SummaryAs a
Welding Engineer , you will use your expertise in metal joining technologies and automation to work with KUKA's sales team and provide pre-sales support to end-customers and system integrators supporting automation solutions with KUKA's products.
Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement solutions for welding customer samples, create and maintain engaging demonstrations and presentations, and ensure the weld lab is well-organized, properly equipped and ready for customer demonstrations and weld trials.
Collaborate with the team to create training materials and participate in welding show activities. You will travel occasionally to customer sites to assist and provide support with robotic weld integrations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
including, but not limited to:
Creates product-related presentations and demonstrations in conjunction with sales management.
Presents technical information when necessary.
Maintains demo lab inventory and organization.
Assists in documenting software features to include video and presentations.
Supports KUKA Robotics equipment and application specific software packages.
Assists Sales Operations in the development of arc welding related proposal packages.
Informs sales management of project/support deviations.
Supports and documents sales opportunity issues from a product standpoint with the emphasis to maintain clear communications globally and locally within KUKA and between KUKA and the customer.
Ensures engineering compliance with all customer and/or other pertaining specifications. Ensures company awareness to specifications.Supports Technical Support escalations concerning system partners and/or customers.
Test and verifies new software releases from Germany.
Exercises sound judgment in controlling sales and administrative costs within incumbent's control.
Promotes teamwork and cooperative effort.
Maintains a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area, practices good safety habits, and utilizes appropriate safety equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned
Understands and follows safety regulations and identifies safety concerns, adheres to the Quality Systems and participates in continual improvement and complies with all corporate policies, processes, procedures and business guidelines.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or two-year welding degree and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of welding wave form characteristics, shielding gases, filler metals and base materials. Ability to read welding drawings. Understanding of the various welding industry codes, regulations and certifications. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel PowerPoint, and the Internet.Required Experience
Welding-TIG, GMAW, Plasma, Laser Hybrid
Cutting- Plasma, Laser
Experience with the following is preferred
AutoCAD
KUKA robot basic programming and operations
KUKA "Tech Packages" ArcTech/Laser Tech/ ServoGun
