    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs all stages of an estimate including project selection, estimate organization, take-off, pricing, review, and closeout.
    • Assists project management with preconstruction planning, takes part in scheduling meetings and budget meetings when requested.
    • Review project plans, requirements, proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and ensure accuracy of data that is provided in contract documents. Determine labor and equipment costs.
    • Develop means & methods to determine constructability of all elements of the project.
    • Coordinate design of temporary structures such as shoring, support of excavation, cofferdams, formwork, etc.
    • Obtain Sub & supplier vendor quotations.
    • Prepare bid packages. Compare and evaluate competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
    • Submits 100% of bid proposals and budgets by the bid deadlines.
    • Track awarded contracts – may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, purchasing materials, preparing subcontracts, etc.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Municipal, County and DOT Roadway Construction experience is a MUST
    • Underground Utility Construction experience is a PLUS (storm, sewer, water)
    • Site Development experience is a PLUS (mass grading, earthwork, sitework)
    • Computer proficiency including use of estimating software, Excel, Word & Outlook
    • Detail-oriented team player with strong communications skills.
    • Previous experience estimating projects up to $3 million range.
    • Able to read and interpret civil construction plans and documents.
    • Able to adhere to guidelines and complete project tasks in established time frames.
    • A motivated self-starter who can take direction and work independently. Experience with Design Build projects desired, but not required.
    • Attention to detail with the ability to identify risk factors and cost saving opportunities.
    • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Valid driver's license
