Job summary
This seasonal position assists the State Raptor, Grassland and Forest Bird Biologist with bird surveys identifying birds by sight and sound monitoring nest boxes installing and maintaining nest boxes trapping capturing and banding various birds of prey grassland and forest bird species.The job requires working independently on flexible hours including some extended days weekend hours up to five miles walking terrain operating four-wheel drive vehicles climbing high ladders using binoculars spotting scope distinguishing bird species color bands at distance.
Applicants must be available for irregular work hours during peak field season May 1 June 3 willing to work holidays weekends outside typical work hours while maintaining maximum five-day week primarily Monday through Friday.
