    Description

    Responsibilities:
    Lead and manage the operational lab team, ensuring adherence to best practice procedures.

    Assume responsibility for department operations during lab hours.

    Provide regular training and guidance to staff to ensure comprehensive task understanding.

    Assign, direct, and schedule staff to optimize operational efficiency.

    Offer guidance and support to the lab team on work methods, equipment usage, and techniques.

    Contribute to and uphold NLM requirements and documented procedures to guarantee accurate and reliable results.

    Maintain health and safety standards, identify and minimize hazards, and adhere to accident and near miss reporting protocols.

    Collaborate with the technical consultant to establish standards, normal values, and control methods for each laboratory test.

    Work alongside the technical consultant to set acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure their maintenance throughout testing.

    Implement corrective action policies and procedures when test systems deviate from acceptable performance limits, ensuring thorough documentation.

    Coordinate with management to oversee the functionality of the Laboratory Information System.

    Ensure adherence to appropriate inventory supply systems and maintain their functionality.

    Prepare, or direct the preparation of, various qualitative and quantitative reports and records.

    Analyze results for trend assessment, report information, and communicate with management as necessary.


    Requirements:

    Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role, this role requires highly relevant experience in a specific area of work.

    Certification as MT (ASCP) or Laboratory Specialist

    Associate or bachelors degree in relevant field

    Goal driven

    Must be self-directed

    Open to growth opportunities

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Collaboration skills

    Preferred experience with Vitros 5600

    Microbiology experience
