- Providing timely, accurate, informative, and focused communications on ATF initiatives and programs that impact public safety;
- Developing written materials such as press releases, background papers, etc. that include the appropriate quantity, degree and tone of information to be disseminated;
- Ensuring that the policies and views of leadership are consistent in public outreach and resolving divergent public expressions among key officials;
- Maintaining effective working relationships with media representatives, public interest and community groups, and representatives of public industry to gain understanding and support for ATF programs;
- Evaluating and identifying potential media problems or areas of friction and recommending solutions.
