Description
Wilson & Company is seeking a professional engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry to serve as the Practice Leader for planning, design, and modeling support for a variety of projects related to surface water projects including flood control facilities, floodplain mapping, drainage infrastructure, land development site drainage, municipal and highway drainage design, and sediment transport analysis.
The Practice Leader will lead the technical delivery, client management and business development, and personnel elements of the drainage/flood control team in Omaha, while develop strong working relationships with other drainage/flood control teams in the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform appropriate hydrologic and hydraulic analysis to match project requirements.
Development of drainage reports, CLOMR/LOMRs, and flood certification letters.
Design storm sewers, culverts, detention/retention/water quality facilities, flood control and related drainage facilities.
Calculate quantities and prepare engineering estimates.
Develop scopes of work, and associated labor level-of-effort and fee estimates.
Lead and support the development of letter proposals, statement of qualifications, and letters of interest.
Complete erosion control and stormwater management plans.
Lead and assist with marketing and business development efforts.
Manage projects from inception through completion, including contracting, invoicing, and AR management.
Recruit, manage, develop, and mentor technical staff.
Produce high-quality work products, while adhering to appropriate QA/QC procedures.
Coordinate with other disciplines and support services.
Travel occasionally as project work requires.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related technical field in an ABET-accredited college or university. Master's degree in a field directly relevant to surface water engineering is considered a plus.
A minimum of 12 years of experience in the field of surface water analysis, planning, and design consulting.
Active licensure in the State of Nebraska or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Strong background in surface water hydraulics and hydrology. Proficiency in the use standard industry modeling software, including but not limited to HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PC/XP-SWMM, and FLO-2D.
Proficiency in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for design plan production.
Working experience using ESRI software (GIS) and HEC-GeoRAS.
